TxDoT proposes new construction on FM 1735

The Texas Department of Transportation recently held an open house at Chapel Hill School to discuss the proposed plan to widen FM 1735, the main highway that leads from SH 49 to Chapel Hill School and Northeast Texas Community College.

Marcus E. Sandifer, public information officer of the Atlanta District of TxDOT, said the initial meeting was held to offer people an opportunity to see the proposed plans for the reconstruction and speak with TxDOT representatives about the project.

“We want to show property owners and interested citizens what is being proposed,” Sandifer said.“We’re going to take comments and see if there are any suggestions that could be made, or if [interested parties] have a better way of doing this. Or if they don’t want to do it at all. Nothing’s in concrete yet.”
