The Northeast campus recognized Breast Cancer Awareness with the Pink Rain Walk-a-thon last week. The event featured a walk around the campus and testimonies from those who have dealt with breast cancer themselves or had a family member who struggled with the disease. The event is part of the “Color the Northeast Texas Community College Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness Week held annually. The campus community was also encouraged to decorate office doors with pink decor, paint a pumpkin pink to be somewhere around campus, create encouraging cards to take to the local cancer treatment center or offer to volunteer as well as a number of other ways to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
