It’s that time of year again. Spring is in the air and spring is just around the corner. The day where couples spend hours planning the perfect date and gifts for their sweetie. Speaking of perfect dates, the silver screen is a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and this year there are plenty of options to choose from.

Without a doubt, the biggest movie coming out around Valentine’s Day 2018 will be the third installment of the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy, 50 Shades Freed. Staring Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson, and Rita Ora, this film picks up right where 50 Shades Darker left off. Married and happy, the new couple sets off to start their new life together as they continue to explore their love for one another, among other stuff. But as things finally seem to be settling down, new adversaries appear trying to tear the couple apart.  If you’re not a fan of the series or into hardcore romance and erotic films, then this is not the movie for you. Luckily, there are many other great films to choose from.

For the action lovers or if you’re a girl who just wants to please her guy, the 15:17 to Paris or Winchester might be a good choice. Staring Alex Skarlatos, Anthony Sadler, and Spencer Stone as themselves, The 15:17 to Paris, which hits theaters Feb. 9, is a true story about three Americans who stopped a terrorist on a train bound for Paris.

Winchester on the other hand, is more of your typical supernatural thriller about California’s infamous Winchester House, a famous mansion in California that is reportedly haunted by the ghosts of those killed by Winchester riffles.

For families wanting to celebrate Valentine’s Day together, Sony’s Peter Rabbit is your go-to flick. This live-action, CG animated film tells the tale of Peter Rabbit, the mischievous, adventurous bunny who has captivated young readers for generations as he continues his feud with Mr. McGregor. This comedy with attitude will star James Corden, Margot Robbie, and even Daisy Ridley. “Peter Rabbit” comes out Feb. 9 and will premier in both regular and 3D versions.

Finally, if you’re willing to wait till after Valentine’s Day, Marvel’s “Black Panther” premiers on the weekend of Feb. 16. So whether you’re looking for romance, edge-of-your-seat thrills, or just a good family-friendly laugh, there are plenty of great films to choose from this Valentine’s Day.
